3 Simple Ways To Amplify The Visibility Of Your Website In 2018

Ways To Amplify The Visibility Of Your Website In 2018-1.jpg

Your website's visibility can be compared to footfall traffic outside a shop in the town centre. As a rule, the more visible you are, the greater the likelihood of customers investing in your business. The type and amount of attention you need will vary depending on the maturity of your business, the nature of your product / service and your ability to satisfy the growing demand.

This article will look beyond basic SEO techniques and give you 3 ways to amplify the visibility of your website in 2018.

1) Set Realistic Goals That Reflect Your Upcoming Business Needs

What are your goals for 2018? Do you want to grow your revenue – if so, by how much? Do you want to increase your subscriber base? Re-invent your online presence? Enter a new market? Expand your product range and services?

Always keep in mind that although a high level of website traffic is impressive, this type of traffic is useless unless you can encourage customers to convert. Your website must have relevant, up-to-date content that fulfils your customer’s needs. For example, if you want to increase your subscriber base then I recommend using social media, if you want to increase the knowledge of your products, then I recommend posting regular blog articles. Alternatively, creating a FREE downloadable eBook explaining your products / service is an effective way to create awareness and draw in customers.

In short, your website content must align with your goals, otherwise customers won't give your business the time of day.

2) Review Your Current Website

Many businesses take a haphazard approach to their marketing. They will wait and wait, hoping for things to improve with their online marketing, and then jump the gun and invest in services on an “as-needed” basis. This results in creating content, adding it to the website, but failing to monitor its performance. Adding new pages to the website can also complicate the website navigation – leading to high bounce rates and low conversions.

If this sounds familiar, I strongly advise auditing your website from the perspective of a first-time visitor. Scrutinize the user experience (the appearance, speed and functionality of your website, as well as mobile layout), from initial visit all the way through to conversion (such as purchasing or contacting your team for further information). Write down your honest opinion and thoughts – it's better to be super critical than sugar-coat the truth to make yourself feel better. Your website is the backbone of your marketing activities; remember, your pay-per-click ads, social media and any browsing customers will come to your site to find out more about you, and therefore you should focus on making the experience as easy and intuitive as humanly possible.

After auditing your website, I recommend auditing your content. Log whenever you update your website with new content, and then routinely track the performance. How many page views? How many likes / shares and interactions? How many submissions / contact us enquiries? Monitoring your content will help you build an effective editorial calendar – allowing you to post content at peak times to boost conversions.

3) Link Building – Content Curation

Websites require attention and engagement to survive in today's fiercely competitive market. Links, shares and mentions from other content creators in your industry is a great way to expand your horizons and draw in new customers that have never heard of you before.

Benefits of content curation include:

  • Increased Sales
  • Display Thought Leadership
  • Improves Search Engine Ranking, Supports Lead Generation
  • Saves Time by Streamlining Lead Nurturing
