Why Outsource Content Marketing?

Why Outsource Content Marketing.jpg

When preparing to begin a content marketing campaign, businesses often face three options:

  1. Create and share the content themselves
  2. Hire an in-house marketing team
  3. Outsource

There are a number of advantages and disadvantages to each of these options, but which one is most useful to a business? As you may have guessed from the title of this article, we are going to talk about why you should be outsourcing your content marketing.

When it comes to content marketing, a lot of small and medium-sized businesses may hold back from outsourcing their content marketing and attempt to do it themselves. This, by no means, is a bad way to carry out your content marketing campaign, as long as you know what you’re doing. However, outsourcing your content may be more beneficial to your business in a number of ways.

You’ll Outsource To Professionals

Imagine you want to learn to play golf. There are two people standing in front of you wanting to teach you: one has as much experience as you, the other is a professional golf coach. Who are you more likely going to want to teach you? It’s the same for content marketing. You want to start a content marketing campaign but you don’t really know what makes an effective marketing campaign. You could turn to your current employees, most of which will have no more experience than you, to create this content or you could outsource to professionals, who do it for a living.

While content marketing can be extremely effective, it isn’t easy. There are so many things you need to keep in mind and so many skills you need to have in order to create effective content and utilise it to its full potential. Additionally, it is important to keep up with the latest trends and developments in order to keep up with the competition. For example, blogging is an extremely important part of content marketing. Digital marketing agencies exist because they employ professionals who have the skills and knowledge required to effectively carry out a content marketing campaign. Businesses with their own in-house marketing team don’t suffer with this as much but may still benefit more from outsourcing content.

Outsourcing Can Make More Use Of Your Money

If you want to start content marketing, whoever does it is going to have to at least partially know what they are doing. That means arranging training for your current employees, hiring temporary or permanent members of staff, or outsourcing. All of these options are going to cost you money, and if you make the wrong choice, you could be throwing it down the drain. Allowing your current team to be trained will definitely help them create content and understand why it can be so important to a business’ marketing strategy, but it won’t turn them into digital marketers overnight. Essentially, you’d be wasting money on giving your team a basic understanding of content marketing and won’t see as much of a benefit from the content they produce as you would from a professional team.

Hiring your own in-house marketing team would at least mean you have professionals who know what they are doing. However, you’d have more people that require the wages and benefits you offer to your other employees. This, especially for a small business, can seem too costly for what you get in return. When you outsource your content marketing, however, you can save on the costs of training and hiring new people to work for you, while still receiving a professional and effective service that could actually get you good results.

It Will Decrease Your Workload

If you run a small or medium-sized business, it’s safe to say you’re probably busy a lot of the time. You don’t have thousands of employees to delegate work to and the workers you do have also have very busy schedules. So why would you want to cram content marketing on top of that? Outsourcing your content marketing will allow you to focus on what your business actually does.

Furthermore, while this is saving you time, it is also allowing your content marketing to be completed in less time, meaning you can get it online quicker and potentially start seeing the benefits quicker. Additionally, if there’s any content you want to create yourself on top of what you outsource, you have more time to do that as well. This, as I’m sure those who have outsourced their content will agree, is a huge stress reliever.
